Will Bequest

A bequest to the American Brain Foundation is appropriate if you want to make a gift to ensure future research by supporting clinical research training fellowships to improve quality of life for patients with neurologic diseases or provide an educational scholarship for residents who would not otherwise be able to attend the ABF Annual meeting, reduce your taxable estate, change your mind about the ultimate size of your gift, and retain ownership and control over your assets during your lifetime.

Your will or revocable trust can direct the distribution of cash, publicly traded securities such as corporate stocks, corporate bonds, some government securities and mutual funds, and real estate to the American Brain Foundation. A gift in your will or revocable trust after your life will result in an estate tax charitable deduction for the full fair market value of donated securities and real estate.

A residual charitable bequest names the American Brain Foundation after provisions for persons and other institutions are named.

A Specific Bequest is a specified sum of money or a particular piece of property such as savings bonds for the American Brain Foundation. If savings bonds are given to charity, income tax on their appreciation is avoided. Particular savings bonds and their identification numbers must be named with a specific bequest.

A Percentage Bequest is a percentage of your estate or a percentage of the residue for the American Brain Foundation.
For you and your attorney's information, the legal language is:
